Wanda Ann Walker McNeil a 1960 Gary High School Graduate Lynchburg, Va. - Wanda Ann Walker McNeil, 66, of Lynchburg, Va., died on Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Wanda was born in Gary, W.Va., the daughter of the late Woodrow Walker and the late Glenna Heileman Walker. She worked as a registered nurse until her retirement and was a member of New Testament Baptist Church, Vinton, Va. She is survived by her daughter, Kristi G. Kidd and husband, Brian of Lynchburg; a granddaughter, Olivia Kidd; two brothers, Wayne Walker Sr. and wife , Kathy of Bluefield, W.Va., and David "Pete" Walker and wife, Linda of Salem, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. on Thursday May 28, 2009 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, Va. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2009 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home by Pastor Josiah Edwards. Helen Marie Magyer Puckett a 1943 Gary High School Graduate Princeton, W.Va. - Helen Marie Magyar Puckett, 84, of Garden Oaks, Princeton, formerly of Gary, died early Tuesday morning, May 26, 2009 at her residence. Born May 25, 1925 at Gary, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Magyar Sr. & Elizabeth Lutian Maygar. Mrs. Puckett was a graduate of Gary High School, Class of 1943. She was a devoted wife , mother, grandmother and friend. While her health permitted, she was a active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Powhatan. Mrs. Puckett had been a lifelong resident of Gary until moving to Princeton four years ago. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Puckett along with all her siblings; Joseph Magyar Jr., Louise Brylski and Margaret Ann Hayes Weeden. Survivors are her loving and caring husband of nearly 61 years, Ralph Edward Puckett Sr., Two children, Ralph Edward Puckett Jr. of Newbern, NC., Bonnie Navarre & husband Robert of Atlanta, Ga., four grandchildren, Tyson Puckett, Ashleigh Howell, Alexandra Navarre & Allison Navarre. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2009 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Harrison Street in Princeton with Father That Son Nguyen as the celebrant. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Garden in Princeton. Stanford V. "Von" Caudle a 1949 Gary High School Graduate Hurricane, W.Va. - Stanford V. "Von" Caudle of Hurricane passed away Saturday April 19, 2008 after a long battle with Parkinson`s. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Mattie Qillen Caudle and brothers, Jack and Ralph Caudle. Von retired from A.E.P., John E. Amos Plant, Winfield, with 39 years of service. He attended Teays Valley Missionary Baptist Church, Hurricane, and was a member of the Lions Club in Kanawha City. He was a graduate of Gary High School, Gary W.Va., and a graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce A. Davis Caudle of Hurricane; brothers, Bill Caudle of Salem,Ore., Charles Caudle of Huddleston, Va., and special nephew, Ronnie Caudle of Bosie, Idaho. Also surviving are several other nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 24, 2008, at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans, with the Rev. John Duffy officiating. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial park, St. Albans, with military rites.
