Current and vintage photos of GHS
The begining to the end.

Original Adkins District High School, taken from an old post card.

The humble beginning

Early photo of GHS date and origin unkown

Times were simple then, can you wonder what was taught then compared to now?

An old photo of GHS date an origin unknown.

Can you wonder what the topics of conversation were between students then as compared to now.

Early photo ADHS before the building of GHS, date and origin unkown

Wonder if the students complained about no heat on the bus or lack of seat belts?

Current photo of Gary HS taken July, 2007 contributed by Robert Bonar

I am told that the old school is now owned and is being used by some sort of Church Group.

Will the Bells ever ring again? Will the halls fill with hurried students? Will GHS always remain a memory?

Filbert # 9 , Catholic Church A Long Time Ago
My family attended services here many times. It was really sad when the Church was torn down, just as it was when other buildings were torn down and the mine closed and the local folks knew it was the begining of the end.
